People of Taiwan, Taiwan is on a Road to Tokyo!
President Roosevelt declared on February 12, 1943, that "there are many roads which lead right to Tokyo. We shall neglect none of them." He said this in a speech following the famous meeting at which he and Prime Minister Winston Churchill of Great Britain agreed that the United States and Britain would not end the war short of the unconditional surrender of Japan, Germany, and others.
Taiwan is athwart one of the roads to Tokyo which the President mentioned. That this road is not being neglected has been made clear by the recent air attacks on Japanese military installations on the island. And in order that this Taiwan road may be used, together with the other roads, in the final great attack on Tokyo, capital of the Japanese pirates, we must wrest the island from the Japanese.
This we tell you not only so that you may understand why we are bombing the hunchback barbarians on your island but also so that we may announce that we are your friends and will welcome your help at a later date in subjugating our common enemy, Japan.
