49 combat prints, depicting Allied raids on Mili in the Marshall Islands and the negotiation of the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, are added to the World War II Combat Photograph Collection. 07-02-15

 

USNA Digital Collections unveils the World War II Battle Reports and Analyses Collection, composed initially of the Battle Experience series of information bulletins, covering such operations as the Solomon Islands Campaign, the bombardment of Iwo Jima, the battle for Attu and Kiska, the invasion of Northern France, and actions in the Marshalls, Marianas, and Gilberts. 06-24-15

 

50 combat prints, depicting the sinking of the battleship Yamato, negotiation of the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, operations off the Japanese home islands, VJ Day celebration, and operations in Greenland, are added to the World War II Combat Photograph Collection. 06-22-15

 

98 combat prints, depicting aerial operations off Japan, allied landings on Kiska, raids on Marcus Island, the loss of U.S.S. Pittsburgh's bow in a typhoon, and the rescuing of downed Navy pilots, are added to the World War II combat Photograph Collection. 05-11-15

 

136 combat prints, depicting the sinking of U.S.S. Lexington at the Battle of Coral Sea, the invasion of Leyte, the air battle in the Sulu Sea, the landings at Sansapor, and the rebuilding of Cherbourg, are added to the World War II Combat Photograph Collection. 04-28-15.
